Kertu (Laur) Kelem is a Fine Artist born and raised in Tallinn, Estonia. She currently lives in Lincoln, United Kingdom with her family of four children. This has been her home for the past 11 years. She always loved art, since childhood and after graduating from high school, went on to study Bachelors in Fine Arts in Painting, in Montclair State University, New Jersey, USA. After graduation, she has been working in the field of Digital Design as well as painting. She has been part of group exhibitions and her work is kept in private collections in USA, Estonia, Israel and UK. Her current paintings depict abstractions of landscapes and florals, art as a form of meditation, observing the depts of the soul and bringing to light what lies beneath. She loves to explore colour harmonies, textures and mixed media, creating vibrant landscapes of the mind. She mainly uses acrylic paint, posca pens and oil pastels on canvas.
