Elizabeth graduated from Andrews University in Berrien Springs MI with a Bachelors of Fine Art in 1989. Her career in graphic design brought her to Atlanta, Ga. in 1990 when she accepted the position of Art Director for Soundview Publications, where she is still employed. A few years after moving to Atlanta, Elizabeth began her studies with artist Chris DiDomizio at DiDomizion Old World Art Studio. She has also taken workshops from Mac Hanson and Micheal Del Priore. This additional education, instruction, and experience continued to enhance her artistic skills. She has been in a number of juried shows, won numerous awards for her landscapes and portraits, and was selected for the Red Cinder Artist-in-Residence in 2003. Elizabeth also taught classical portraits painting at Sandy Springs Art. Elizabeth says: "With each painting, my ultimate goal is not merely the composition of an attractive scene, but the creation of a moment. And that moment is not an instant or a second. That moment should linger and breathe deeply. If I can take that moment and make it last forever....if I can somehow recreate that perfect experience of peace....then I believe I've been successful!"Because of this desire to capture the moment, Elizabeth loves to paint outside painting plein air. She participates several times a year in plein air painting events in Georgia. Last year, she an her husband, were able to fulfill their dream of moving to the mountains in Ellijay, Georgia. The mountains and surrounding countryside have provided new inspirations, and provided new resources and opportunities to paint from life outside.
