Christian Nesvadba was born to paint. His eye for color, movement and mood are exquisite, and his riotous Impressionist flowers are only beginning to receive the attention they merit. His first major award was the prestigious SalzBurger Kulturfonds Prize, earned in 1997 when the artist was just twenty years old. Two one-man shows in Salzberger (premiere) and in Linz followed in 1998. He enjoyed a one man exhibition at the Galerie Opernring in Vienna in 1999, and his U.S. debut at the New York Art Expo 2000 - all before the age of twenty-three. His work is internationally renowned for its brilliant use of color, texture, light, and powerful brush work. Critics agree that the work of Christian Nesvadba is "Modern art that will endure the times." Christian Nesvadba, the son and grandson of successful painters, was born in 1977 in Vienna, Austria. His gift was recognized early, and after starting at regular school, he was transferred to a school that specialized in drawing and engineering. These fields proved to be too rigid and too technical for the emerging artist who was finding his own voice. One of his professors said, "Christian always has an idea to give our technical drawings an artistic value." His first and foremost tutor was his father, the celebrated landscape artist Gerhard Nesvadba. His first paintings were done at his father's easel where he gained an immense knowledge of drawing, color, and composition. He very soon developed his own fresh style and sense of color. His unique floral arrangements and expressive landscapes are undeniably breathtaking and show his personal impressions as a true colorist with bold technique. Clearly, this is a prodigious talent that will only continue to grow. Christian travels extensively, through Tuscany, Provence, and Austria; and is an ardent photographer. He arranges and photographs flowers in every light, and throughout every season. He doesn't copy from his photos, but uses them to springboard into his own brilliantly expressionistic world - where function blends with form, and color is everything. Christian's paintings nearly explode with color and light. His cobalt blues are in sharp contrast with his bright, fiery reds and startling yellows, all casually arranged against beds of cooler, shimmering greens. These are not precise botanicals, but courageous and vibrant statements of life that will continue to be extremely collectable. His international success has become unstoppable - this highly sought after artist's work hangs in many corporate and private collections around the world. Although new to Shaw Gallery, Christian Nesvadba is fast becoming one of our most popular artists. Born in 1977 in Vienna, Austria, Christian comes from a family with an artistic heritage - one spanning several generations. His father, Gerhard Nesvadba, a very well known and highly successful artist, identified his artistic talents while Christian was still a boy. In 1997, when he was only twenty, he won the renowned Salzburger Kulturfonds Prize. Two years later, he held his own impressive exhibition in Vienna, and then made his American debut at the New York Art Expo of 2000.
