A long time native of Charleston, Pete Rock was raised on the Isle of Palms and currently lives in Mt. Pleasant. He spent his early years working in the construction industry; eventually specializing in custom cabinetry and furniture. Studying both contemporary and traditional furniture design elements, He keeps his designs simple with clean lines, relying on balance and proportion. The first Sweet Grass table was inspired by his wife Sarah, who commissioned a local artist, Adeline Mazack, to craft a round, flat Sweet grass basket to serve as the center piece for the table. Walnut, Cherry, mahogany and maple are some of the woods used and each of the tables uniquely different.
