In Megan Singleton’s practice, she explores the ornamentation of plants using form, fiber, and color - interpreting landscape through sculpture, papermaking, and marbling. When creating work, Singleton collects a variety of plant fibers, both native and invasive, and river sediment as the material base for my handmade paper. Research, both material and scholarly, is a critical component of her studio activities. This distinct process of material selection also allows her to physically embed elements of regional specificity and conceptual implications into the work.Click to view: Megan Singleton Artwork Catalog
