Susan Robert earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Atlanta College of Art, and proceeded to instruct at the University of Georgia’s Lamar Dodd School of Art, ultimately serving as Professor Emeritus of Art. Known as a colorist and muralist, her use of vibrant colors and geometric abstraction reflects her knowledge of color theory as well as her understanding of environmental design. Her experimentation with "grid motifs" produced a large-scale exhibition at the Georgia Museum of Art in July of 2019, experimenting with geometric minimalism and exploration of color. The installation "Language without Words: The Power of Color As Form" sought to pay homage to art and science experts Josef Albers and Charles Darwin. Robert presented the story of colorist Josef Albers as the thesis of her lecture.
