Jay has an instantly recognizable style that playfully combines expressive abstraction in watercolor with more figurative, delicate ink linework. Jay sometimes depicts landscapes, objects, and faces, and sometimes represents more abstract concepts and emotions. Whatever his subject matter, Jay's paintings and drawings vibrate with soulful energy and motion. He is engaged and prolific, and as enthusiastic as he is thoughtful. Outside of the studio, Jay loves playing music, including saxophone and guitar. He also enjoys reading and writing poetry, and generally "exploring positive vibes."
