Growing up in the picturesque mountain town of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Eric Wilcox was surrounded by art from an early age. Yet it wasn’t until a fellow artist handed him a lump of clay and a sculpting tool that he discovered his own passion for sculpture. From that first piece—a small bear later cast in bronze by another artist friend—Eric realized he had found his creative calling.Captivated by the beauty and permanence of bronze, Eric created his first official sculpture, "Bison", in 2014 with the simple intention of making meaningful family heirlooms. “When I’m gone, they’ll always have this,” Eric says. “It’s bronze—it’ll always be there.”What began as a personal project quickly evolved into a successful fine art career. Featuring his now-signature use of vibrant patinas and expressive wildlife poses, "Bison" gained immediate attention and earned Eric placement in two fine art galleries shortly after its release. Within just 18 months, the entire edition of 150 sold out. Since then, Eric has released more than 20 editions of bronze sculptures, with works acquired by hundreds of collectors around the world.Known for bringing a sense of warmth, personality, and optimism to wildlife art, Eric’s sculptures reflect both the beauty of nature and the joy he finds in it. His distinctive style continues to resonate with collectors who appreciate his fresh, colorful approach to traditional bronze sculpture.Eric lives in Jackson Hole with his wife and three children, where he enjoys spending time outdoors and drawing inspiration from the surrounding landscape and wildlife. In addition to his work as a sculptor, he has managed his family’s art gallery for more than two decades and has been featured in Fine Art Connoisseur and other major art publications. Looking ahead, Eric plans to create larger-scale works and expand his presence at prominent art shows across the country.
