Rachael Nerney (b. New Hampshire, 1991) is an American multi-disciplinary professional artist. Her practice includes fine art painting, installing murals, and illustration design. Her artwork captures fleeting moments through vibrant color, light, and pattern. Her goal is to spread joy and foster connection in communities through her illustrations. In 2013, Rachael earned her BFA in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design. After graduation, she worked as an in-house artist and sign maker at several Whole Foods Markets in New England for four years. Since moving to Charleston over 6 years ago, Rachael has established her unique voice in the art community. She was honorably selected as the 2020 poster artist for the Charleston Farmers Market. Her work also exhibited at the NYC Affordable Art Fair two years in a row. Her vibrant murals adorn the walls of multiple restaurants (Park & Grove, The Tippling House, and Rancho Lewis), community buildings (Bees Ferry Library and the R.L. Jones Center in Mount Pleasant), and businesses (The Miller Gallery and Matchstick Social). Rachael lives and works in Charleston, where she can usually be found sifting through stands of the farmers market planning her next meal. She is excited about working with people who are also passionate about food, sustainability, and community.
