CHRYSALIS DESIGNSAnne Besse-Shepherd of Chrysalis Designs has been a professional artist for her entire career. She has Bachelors Degree in Art from Skidmore College and a Masters in Fine Arts (MFA) in Metalsmithing from the University of Washington. For more than 25 years she was the president of Chrysalis Designs, a jewelry company that designed and produced one-of-a-kind and limited edition art jewelry using silver, gold, and precious and semi-precious stones, and cloisonné enamel. After retiring from the jewelry business Anne moved to Martha’s Vineyard fulltime. She began painting using paints and pastels she inherited from her mother, Virginia Weston Besse, a well-known local painter. Anne’s work is focused on capturing the light and mood in the beautiful landscape that surrounds her on the New England coastline.
