Rebecca Kreisler is a fine artist originally from Duluth, Georgia and currently living in Gainesville, Georgia. She earned a BFA in Printmaking and Book Arts from the University of Georgia in 2004 and an MFA in Printmaking from Louisiana State University in 2011. She has worked previously teaching Foundations and Art History at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and as a letterpress printer and designer for Blackbird Letterpress. Her current sculptural works, made from cut-and folded paper, developed as an extension of previous work in sculptural bookmaking, installation, and paper engineering. She also works in relief printing, letterpress, drawing and bookbinding. Her work is an investigation of geometry, pattern and color that draws inspiration from quilting patterns, tilework and mathematical diagrams.
