Jon Langford is a visual artist and founder member of legendary British punk rock band the Mekons and Chicago country-rockers the Waco Brothers. Over the years he has been a frequent visitor to the city New Orleans and early in 2008 he came back to play a benefit concert at The House Of Blues for Sweet Home New Orleans (a local foundation dedicated to bringing displaced musicians, artists and cultural leaders back to the city) with Sally Timms of the Mekons, Janet Bean of Freakwater, Nellie McKay, Kimya Dawson and members of My Morning Jacket. During that trip he met and performed with New Orleans musicians like Al Carnival Time Johnson, Bonerama, James Andrews and 10TH Ward Buck and visited sites of devastation and rebuilding all across the city. Jon Langford currently lives in Chicago with his wife and two boys and hosts a radio show called The Eclectic Company on WXRT. He is also a recent recruit to the Mystic Crewe of Laff, Chicago's only New Orleans style Social Aid & Pleasure Club.
