Deedra Ludwig was born in Chicago; has lived in Atlanta, New York City, Brighton, UK; and currently resides in New Orleans. She was a founding member of Eye Level Acme Studios in Brighton, UK and has participated in numerous artist-in-residence programs, including the Sitka Center, the Cooper Union, the Hambidge Center & A Studio In The Woods. Awards include a Fulbright fellowship, a Fulton County Atlanta arts award, and a United Kingdom Arts Council grant. She received a BFA from New York University and studied art history at the University of Sussex. Her works are held at Emory University, Swedish Medical Center, Tokai International, Hartsfield Jackson International Airport, National Park Museum, Federal Reserve Bank, Miami Dade International Airport, Everglades National Park, Whitney Bank, Art In Embassies International, US Department Of Ecology California, Ritz Carlton International Hotels, Nordstrom, The Four Seasons plus numerous other public and private collections. Solo and group exhibitions span over a 25 year career including The Atlanta Biennial, The Red Clay Survey, The New Orleans Museum Of Art, The Mattress Factory Atlanta, Centrum Arts Washington state, Everglades National Park, Art South and numerous other curated exhibitions.
