With a career spanning over 40 years, Geoffrey Smith has established himself as a celebrated painter and gallery owner with works featured in prestigious corporate collections, including AT&T headquarters in Basking Ridge and the John Hancock Company, as well as private collections worldwide. Smith’s remarkable journey began in 1973 when he received the Prix-de-Paris award in New York City, where his paintings represented American art in Paris. Six years later, he earned first prize in the National Art Competition. His passion for capturing dynamic scenes continued to gain recognition, leading him to be selected by the New York Racing Association for an exhibition of horse racing paintings at the Clubhouse Gallery in Saratoga in 1987 and as a featured artist at Belmont Park in 1990. Smith’s talent extended beyond exhibitions. In 1991, he was the cover artist for “Pops By The Sea” for the Boston Pops Orchestra, and in 1993 and 2018, he was the featured artist for the Hyannis Yacht Club’s "Figawi Regatta."The art world continued to honor Smith’s work throughout the years. In 1994, his painting of Muhammad Ali was selected by Northeastern University's "Sport and Society" to present to Ali as their first inductee. Commissions followed, including the "Head Of The Charles Regatta" cover in 1995, the "US Ryder Cup" cover in 1999, and the "US Open Golf Championship" cover for Fine Art of America's Fairways in 2001. In 2009, Smith was one of 100 artists chosen for a National Art Show in Atlanta, GA. His international appeal continued to grow, with two sold-out shows at the Art House Gallery in Saint Ives, Cornwall, England, in 2011. Geoffrey was also the Featured Artist at the 32nd Annual Figawi Charity Ball in 2018.Smith has served on the Board of Directors for the Cape Cod Arts Foundation and continues to have his work represented in galleries throughout Great Britain and the USA, including Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, Newburyport, Chatham, and Saint Ives, Cornwall.
