Barbara Efchak is an oil painter whose work explores the quiet beauty of ordinary objects and flowers. Rooted in classical tradition, her paintings are shaped by attentive observation of light and a deep appreciation for the subtle narratives found in everyday arrangements. Influenced by Italian Renaissance and Dutch Golden Age masters, she creates still lifes that invite viewers to pause, imagine, and connect with moments often overlooked. Efchak discovered her passion for the visual arts at an early age, later earning an MA in studio ceramics and serving as resident potter at the Shelburne Art Center in Vermont. Her desire for classical realism eventually led her to Grand Central Atelier in New York, where she studied with artists including Greg Mortensen, Colleen Barry, Patrick Byrnes, Michael Klein, Josh LaRock, and mentor Justin Wood. For Efchak, painting is a meditative practice—a way to slow down, observe with intention, and honor the fleeting beauty of the world around us. Her work reflects a lifelong pursuit of craftsmanship, clarity, and quiet elegance. Barbara resides with her husband and standard poodle in Palm Beach County, FL, and NJ.
