Gee Gee Collins explores themes of femininity through bold brush strokes of vibrant colors. Collins was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She studied painting at the College of Charleston and received a bachelor's degree in fine art from the University of Georgia. She also spent time in Cortona, Italy where she studied at the Lamar Dodd School of Art. Collins has since blossomed her style into an array of extravagant design. Fascinated with the essence of minimalism, Collins’ organic lines and sense of whimsy give her figures a loose form that trigger a sense of fun and elegance as well as a strong sense of lust and beauty. She approaches her canvas with a level of ease and spontaneity that allows for a greater sensation of energy to move through her paintings. The layers of colors, strokes, and lines imbues each painting with a unique history and ethereal quality.
