(1940 - ) Kirk Hughey, a Santa Fe-based artist originally from Gran Rapids, Minnesota, studied at Northern Colorado University, St. John's College in Santa Fe and at Ghost Ranch, New Mexico, with Georgia O'Keefe. Hughley credits artist, Fritz Scholder, with being his mentor and teacher. He is known for his figurative paintings which are found in national museum collections and private collections such as those of Robert Redford, among others in North America and Europe.
