(1923 - 2006) Aron Bukh was born in the Ukraine, moving to Moscow, Russia, in 1941 to study at the School of Artistic Education. Bukh painted still lives, landscapes, portraits and the female nude. His style was characterized by a feeling for expressionistic energy, and paint was often applied directly with his fingers, overlaying color in bright combinations. Bukh came to be recognized as one of the great artists of the Soviet Union. His works are found in important galleries and museums throughout the Soviet Union and its former republics, as well as in museums internationally.*
