William Wofford, Jr. is a third generation Floridian who lives and paints in the coastal community of central Florida where he was born and raised. Essentially self taught, he has been drawing since early childhood. Inspired by great American realists like Andrew Wyeth and Edward Hopper, and as a means of creating personal and autobiographical subject matter, the primary focus of his work since late 1991 has been his own home and studio. His subject matter often consists of everyday objects from his immediate environment, and it is in this study of objects he has a history with that he finds his motivation. Wofford’s work has been featured in state, regional, and national watercolor exhibitions since 1988, and he was selected as a Signature Member of the Florida Watercolor Society in 1991. He was featured in the spring edition of American Artist Watercolor Magazine in 1994, and held a solo exhibit in early 1996 titled, "Familiar Visions," at the Museum of Art-DeLand.You can visit William's website to view more of his work here.
