Born in Teaneck, NJ, Megan grew up on the East Coast in the seaside community of Manasquan, NJ. She was enrolled by her father, while still in grade school, in her first formal painting class with renowned landscape artist Ted Goerschner, N.A. (1933-2012), who emphasized the need to paint from life and that an artist must know how to draw, or their painting will not be believable. Megan was educated at Moore College of Art & Design and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia. At Moore, she received exceptional instruction in classical figure drawing under the tutelage of Jack Henderson, N.A. (1931-1998). Jack, who had the most profound influence on Megan's artistic development, was a Fulbright Scholar and Fellow, a Pulitzer Fellow, an Abbey Fellow at the American Academy in Rome, studied under Robert Beverly Hale, and at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He taught concurrently at the Art Students League in New York. In addition to her studio work, Megan paints marine subjects, beachscapes and seascapes, mainly outdoors. She is represented at Main Street Gallery in Manasquan, NJ. Her award winning work has been widely exhibited and is in collections in North America and Europe. Megan is a member of the American Impressionist Society, AmericanSociety of Marine Artists, Art Renewal Center, Philadelphia Watercolor Society, Portrait Society of America and is an Elected Member of Salmagundi Club.
