Robert Cronin was born in Lexington, MA in 1936. He achieved a Bachelors of Fine Art in Painting at the Rhode Island School of Design in 1959 and went on in 1962 to complete a Masters in Fine Art at Cornell University. Over the course of his career he taught at a variety of universities, and influenced a number of budding artists. He has been collected extensively by public institutions such as the Brooklyn Museum of Art and Carnegie Museum as well as a variety of private collectors. Cronin focuses on making abstract sculptures, highlighting colour play that is so prominent within abstract art. He has "pops" of colour that are only visible at certain angles of the work, which make the artwork entice a viewer. To read more about Cronin's CV please click here.
