Robert Cronin was born in Lexington, MA in 1936. He achieved a Bachelors of Fine Art in Painting at the Rhode Island School of Design in 1959 and went on in 1962 to complete a Masters in Fine Art at Cornell University. Over the course of his career he taught at a variety of universities, and influenced a number of budding artists. He has been collected extensively by public institutions such as the Brooklyn Museum of Art and Carnegie Museum as well as a variety of private collectors. Cronin focuses on making abstract sculptures, highlighting colour play that is so prominent within abstract art.
