Tom Bailey describes his style of painting as 'Inadvertently Impressionist." He paints primarily in pastels and oils and is known for his vibrant textures and bold mark-making.
“All my paintings start at places I’ve actually been,” explains Bailey. “Where they take me from there, however -- or where I take them -- is always an unplanned adventure.”
Tom is a full-time artist with studios in Amesbury, Massachusetts. He is a juried artist member and regularly exhibits with a wide range of regional and national arts organizations. He is a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America, Connecticut Pastel Society and the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod. He is a juried Artist Member of The Salmagundi Club of New York, the Rockport Art Association, and the North Shore Art Association in Gloucester, MA.
His work has been featured several times in the Pastel Journal magazine and was selected for the book “Pure Pastel: Contemporary works by Today’s Top Artists”.
