It is said that printmaking is the kitchen of art and that pinche means “a person who lends auxiliary services in the kitchen.” I started as an assistant to an engraver in Guanajuato, that's why I'm elpinchegrabador.As a printmaker I have worked in various techniques, and within my portfolio I cover topics from Mexican popular culture from skulls to bestiaries.I am a native of the city of Guanajuato, and while my first great passion was drawing, at 18 I got to know the printmaking trade, took it as a way of life, exploring it and practicing it daily.When I finished my university studies I undertook a trip that took me to the cities of Nayarit, Mazatlán and Baja California Sur, with the sole objective of dedicating myself to this beautiful work. I had the opportunity to sell my prints on streets, boardwalks, art fairs and in any available place, which enriched my artistic spirit and entering the real art market. In 2013 I returned to my homeland where I opened my first workshop-gallery in which I continue working to date.Through time I have opened galleries of my own in the city of Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende and Oaxaca, as well as portfolio collaborations with other workshops, invitations to group and individual exhibitions in museums and galleries both nationally and internationally.
