Pamela Hollinde received an MFA in printmaking from SUNY, Albany in 1983.Upon graduation, Ms. Hollinde lived in Barcelona, Spain for a year learning papermaking from master papermaker Laurence Barker. She also created a new body of work using woodblock prints on thick large sheets of handmade paper. This work reflected on her Iberian experience as she immersed herself in the culture. When she returned to the states she has continued to travel extensively and show her work. Ms. Hollinde had a solo show at Amos Eno Gallery, NYC, in 1993 as well as many other venues including Chicago, Boston, Albany and Springfield. The artist continues working with handmade paper, painting and printmaking as well as teaching classes in her new paper/printmaking workshop called Sonoran Winds Workshop. Artist StatementMy paintings, prints and collage are all driven by a profound respect, love and astonishment of all things in the natural world. For many years I lived on the East Coast and drew my inspiration from the ocean. Now that I have moved to the Sonoran desert region I am inspired by the intense color, patterns and textures of the desert and it’s amazing creatures! I am looking at all this with the fresh eyes of a newcomer and hope my love for this new place is reflected in my work.
