Claire Foxton is an Australian muralist, artist and designer. Her works can be found across Australia, New Zealand and the United States and in private collections across the globe. While her mural works reflect the truth of a place and its people, her fine art practice instead draws the viewer inward. Her process, often reactive and stream-of-conscious like, becomes an allegory for an inner dialogue, drawing on ideas of duality, fragility and self-destruction. Moments of intuition and childlike haphazardness are held in tension with careful design and critical realism exploring the meeting point of order and chaos, intuition and intellect, and the contradictions that govern us.
