Haitian artist Simeon Michel was born in Pilate on August 2ó, 1953. He started drawing at an early age and later developed his unique, flamboyant style, which made him recognizable to collectors all over. His artwork depicts the vibrant Haitian countryside. He exhibited in Haiti and the United States. His art is also cited in many Haitian art books.
