Natalie Sturgis is an African American writer and painter born and raised in New York. In what she describes as her process, she attempts to capture her emotions onto surfaces with the use of acrylics and unconventional materials. She waits patiently to be connected to the narrative of her mediums in use, all while absorbing the histories and deep rooted messages embedded within. As an artist, Sturgis explores vehicles of boundless curiosity that support and upholds her creative sincerity. Rarely is a piece planned. Within her process of expression, Natalie's creations are beautifully conveyed through bold color, expression, and abstractions of form and figure. With poetry and writing, she examines her core.
