Jacques-Lionel Henry was born on October 13, 1950, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He attended primary school and High School at Lycees Firmin and Louverture. He began to paint in 1970- studying under Professor Aucun. His favorite artists are Andre Normil and Felix Edugene. His style is primitive (Haiti Voodoo Kingdom to Modern Riviera pp. 110)
