Gloria Matuszewski creates meditative geometric drawings and paintings inspired by the labor of anonymous textile artisans throughout history. Her works pay tribute to generations of makers whose intricate fabrics and patterns have shaped cultural traditions across the world. Through carefully constructed geometric compositions, she reflects on both the beauty and the human labor embedded within these objects.Her drawing process mirrors the slow, mindful movements of her daily tai chi practice. Working patiently with colored pencil, she builds rhythmic structures that are both precise and contemplative.
