Born in 1970 in San Antonio, Texas, Deborah Schafer has a AB in Visual Arts from Princeton University, worked for more than a decade in art museums in curatorial and tech-related capacities, a second career helping bring new medical devices to market, and eventually began painting once again. She is a Mexican National and U.S. citizen and lives in the Bay Area and coastal Maine.
