Catherine was born in Pasadena, California, moving about the country with her parents until 1994 when she moved to Hawaiʻi to pursue her career as a full-time artist. Her interest in art grew over time, after watching her mother paint in oils throughout her childhood she became more interested in growing as an artist.She attended the Academy of Arts in Honolulu. She also worked in several galleries to learn the ropes of the art world. Though basically self-taught, she also attended classes at the University of Hawaiʻi. Catherine loved so much the beauty of the island beaches and mountains, and even more enjoyed transforming the places she loves into expressions on canvas, working in both oils and acrylics. She is also an animal portrait artist, enjoys painting birds and other wildlife around Hawaiʻi as well as personal commissioned pet portraits.
