Brenda is a contemporary impressionist, drawn to the brilliance of light and the drama of shadow. Her work is predominantly in oils, graphite, and oil sticks. She inspires wonder and welcomes a viewer to pause with her extraordinary use of texture and color. The daughter of an artist, creativity has naturally stirred Brenda throughout her life. Never discouraged from coloring outside the lines, this foundation is evident in her every effort. Lost edges and unexpected fragments of color are found throughout her paintings. She is grateful to be among the talented, supportive arts communities in Atlanta and Marietta. Brenda shares her studio with her ever-faithful 145 lb. Newfoundland, Hemingway. She has had the privilege of studying under some of the Southeast’s most talented artists, including Trisha Adams, Anne Blair Brown, Charles Cashwell, Margaret Dyer, Nancy Franke, Cynthia Perryman, Jim Richards, and Patrick Saunders.
