Antoinette Martin is an art professor at Windward Community College where she is also the director of Gallery ʻIolani. She teaches 2-D design, color theory, gallery design and management, and beginning drawing and painting. Martin was awarded the University of Hawaiʻi Excellence in Teaching Award, and a Service-Learning Award from the University of Hawaiʻi for her community art programs. Martinʻs work is regularly accepted in juried exhibitions and she has received awards from the Pastel Society of America in New York, Pastel Society of Hawaiʻi, as well as several other awards in Hawaiʻi for her pastels. In Octover 2013, Martin was awarded the first place award in the pastel Artists of Hawaiʻi annual juried exhibition. Her work is in local, national and international collections including the Hawaiʻiʻs State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, she has received commissions for Saint Francis Hospital and Hawaiian Airlines in Hawaiʻi.
