Hank Whittington turns wood in the tradition of his grandfather Sidney Snow, Uncle William Snow, and uncle James Snow. Hankʻs son Matthew shows talent in woodturning. Hankʻs grandson Joshua creates display cabinets. At age 90, Hank continues a 14 year hobby which began with the purchase of a well-used lathe from the Kāneʻohe shop of Terry Rivera. Hankʻs prior hobbies include collecting antique clocks and raising champion English Budgie birds. At age 19, Hank built his first house. His prior employment includes home building and project development as a licensed contractor. Hank and his wife of 47 years, Ronaele, reside in Kailua. Any pieces signed as HANK+R represent pyrographic collaboration. Hank turns. Ronaele burns.
