Martin Cail earned his BFA from the University of Central Missouri in 1995 and an MFA from the Ohio State University in 1997. With a background as an art preparator at esteemed institutions like the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art and the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Martin's artistic journey is deeply rooted in diverse experiences. Having taught at Ohio State, the Kansas City Art Institute, and JCCC, Martin is not only a practitioner but also a dedicated educator. His artistic evolution spans photography, painting, and sculpture, culminating in his latest focus on the interplay of light, color, and form. Beyond traditional art spaces, Martin has left a mark on public areas with exterior lighting projects, including Town Center Plaza and Town Center Crossing during the 2021 holiday season. Since 2001, his studio near Swope Park has been a creative haven, blending his passions for gardening, architecture, design, lighting, color, and form into a cohesive and celebratory body of work.
