Richard Bollinger was Born in Stony Brook New York , April 25th 1991. As a young child he was always creative, his mind always on overdrive. Having Dyslexia wasn’t easy, school was hard, he felt different , but this pushed him to find his creative side. Skateboarding came into his life at a young age. This has always played a huge role in his creative side, The rebelliousness and culture of skateboarding opened his eyes to a world where he could create his own rules. He went on to pursue his passion of skateboarding. This brought him to New York City, a place where he found himself to be be more creative. He was highly influenced by the different cultures, the fast pace, the rawness, the grafitii that consumed the city. This played a huge role into how he goes about creating art to this very day . Artist StatementI skate, create, and live my life in a fast and spontaneous way. My personal mantra is to just let it happen, let it flow. Just as the human body breathes in and out automatically without being told to do so or how to do it, is similar to how my process of art is. My brain is instinctive and mechanical when it comes to creating. I prefer not to title or label my artwork, and instead let the viewer fluidly interpret the meaning for themselves. I feel that this allows one to becomes more in touch with my piece, making it their own. As I progress as an artist and interact with people at my shows, I am getting more in tune to who I am and what I am creating in that very moment . I have now come to the realization that I must Interpret each creative piece that I do as the Artist. This now will allow the viewer to connect even more with the meaning behind my art piece and understand who I am as a person. We are all connected.
