Cate grew up surrounded by artists and art. Her life-roles have been diverse. She worked in various fields, from her first business that promoted sales of Native American handmade items, to owning a construction business, ski area management, law enforcement, as well as farming and ranching. Although she waited years to find her own role in the world of art, her work became popular quickly and she now sells in galleries in Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and Windsor Betts Art Brokerage in Santa Fe, NM. Cate’s art is juried into national shows and western art auctions, and has been viewed in Cowboys & Indians Magazine and Southwest Art. She studies almost exclusively with preeminent Native American Crow artist and friend, Kevin Red Star. But she has enjoyed other workshops with Jac Kepart, Rachael Kolb-Bailey, Kay Crane, to name a few. The constants you will find in her art are bright, bold, colors woven into Wildlife, Western Americana, and Native American subjects often with some whimsy. *
