Sheri Farabaugh – Artist Biography Sheri Farabaugh transforms her scientific background and accounting precision into oil paintings that capture the intricate details of the natural world. Born in Wisconsin in 1953, Farabaugh developed an early passion for art through community programs before pursuing degrees in biochemistry and a career as a CPA. After retiring from tax accounting in 2005, she dedicated herself to fine art, studying at the Art Students League of Denver and with instructors including Daniel Keys, Timothy Rees, and Robin Cole. Working primarily in oils on hard surfaces, Farabaugh employs techniques ranging from realism to palette knife application. Her fascination with water drives much of her work, exploring reflections, transparency, and the dual nature of power and tranquility found in rivers, lakes, and ponds throughout the American West and Midwest. This focus stems from childhood summers spent kayaking at her grandfather's cottage on Wind Lake in Wisconsin. Farabaugh holds signature memberships in the Oil Painters of America and American Society of Marine Artists, and maintains Associate Master status with the Art Renewal Center. Her paintings have earned recognition in major exhibitions including the Oil Painters of America National Exhibit and Art Renewal Center International ARC Salon, with works advancing to finalist status multiple times. Featured in Fine Art Connoisseur, Art of the West, Southwest Art, and International Artist magazines, Farabaugh's commitment to plein air painting complements her studio practice. She is represented by select galleries across the United States including Abend Gallery, where her work continues to demonstrate the marriage of technical precision and artistic vision.
