David Langevin’s paintings of the Canadian wilderness are truly captivating. Characterized by elements of nature (trees and rocks, water and sky, mountains and snow) and by his style of using layers of transparent and translucent paint, texture effects and dramatic lighting, his works include dynamic landscape images and stunning “tree portraits.” Born in Quebec’s Eastern Townships, David began drawing and painting in early childhood. He completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the University of Ottawa and continued his studies at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and at the Canadian Conservation Institute in Ottawa. After obtaining a Masters degree in Art Education from McGill University, David taught art for several years. A full-time painter since 1994, David continues to give lectures and conduct workshops on painting materials and methods. David currently resides in Kamloops, British Columbia.
