Boris “Bill” Garibyan grew up in the Soviet Union, shadowing his father — a member of the Soviet Union Art Society — in his studio and learning about drawing, painting, and sculpting. Garibyan found work for a local art and design association, and continued his studies in drafting and architecture with evening university classes. After the Soviet Union fell, in 1991 Garibyan and his family emigrated to Twin Falls, Idaho. The initial flurry of settling in held him back from art, but he soon returned to his passion and began studying the impressionist masters and painting the Idaho scenery around him — impressionistic landscapes and waterscapes with clear light and brilliant color.Garibyan is a member of the Idaho Artists’ Society, Oil Painters of America, and the Art Council of Twin Falls. His art has been exhibited at NfinitI Gallery and the Lee Youngman gallery. His awards include recognition from the Artist Advocate Magazine in 2011, the Schacknow Museum of Fine Arts show in 2011-2012, Cheyenne’s National Art Competition and Show in 2006, the Gulf Coast National Competition in 2006, the Infusion Gallery Art Show in 2006, Riverton’s National Art Show in 2006 and 2007, and the Plein Air Salon Competition in 2014. Sources include:Boris Garibyan Pixels, https://boris-garibyan.pixels.com/
