Alexandra Manukyan: Feminine Power and Imaginative Realism in Classical Form Alexandra Manukyan is a contemporary Armenian-American painter whose figurative oil works blend classical techniques with elements of Imaginative Realism and Surrealism. Born in 1963 and classically trained in Armenia, she immigrated to Los Angeles in 1990 and transitioned to full-time fine art in 2012 following a successful career in fashion and graphic design. Manukyan's meticulously crafted paintings explore themes of human connection, feminine strength, and the complex interplay between humanity and nature, often incorporating subtle environmental commentary. Working primarily in oil on Belgian linen, Manukyan personally designs and constructs the elaborate costumes that feature prominently in her compositions. Her technical mastery and imaginative vision position her as a leading voice in contemporary representational art. In addition to exhibiting in prominent galleries and international art fairs, she actively mentors emerging artists through classical training at her studio in Glendale, California.
