(1944 - ) Of Indigenous American heritage, Ralph Aragon was born at San Felipe Pueblo, New Mexico, and married a woman from Zia Pueblo, New Mexico. Incorporating bold colors and a splatter technique reminiscent of his contemporaries, Joe Herrera and Tony DaAragon, Ralph Aragon is credited with creating a new style of painting Pueblo pottery. His designs are constantly innovative, and feel both ancient and modern at the same time. They employ a wide array of symbols, some of which are drawn from ancient rock art. *
