Pauojoungie SaggiakIqaluit, NunavutGraphic Artist Pauojoungie Saggiak (b.1959) is a graphic artist from Iqaluit, NU. As a child Saggiak was enthralled by the birds and animals she would see near her family’s camp. Her childhood memories of time spent on the land inspired Saggiak’s future artistic practice and after moving to Kinngait (Cape Dorset), NU in 1970 she began drawing at the Kinngait Studios. Saggiak depicts Arctic wildlife in her work with detailed realism and sensitivity. Her drawings were included as prints in the Cape Dorset Annual Print Collection for the first time in 2016.
