Artist Statement“I'm a full-time abstract artist with a family to nurture and I'm learning that my rhythms as an artist must change as my family changes. In this season, I'm needing more calm in my practice. I've been on a journey with silence and solitude of late and through this practice, have found that I've been seeking more quiet moments in my days, including color palettes. I will always be using saturated color in my pieces, but in my latest body, I'm using less of it and highlighting the color with neutral backgrounds. It gives my soul time to relax a bit amidst the busyness of everyday life. I love that this career allows me to paint the world as I currently see it and am especially grateful for this leg of the journey that's allowing me to explore serenity in this midst of chaos.”
