Wyanne (pronounced Y-anne) has been a full-time artist for the past 20 years. Her work is in collections all over the world. In late 2013 Wyanne was diagnosed with Stage IV oral cancer. She had never smoked and was otherwise relatively healthy. She lost her entire tongue and 66 lymph nodes. Speaking clearly has become a challenge. She takes all her food and drink through a stomach feeding tube, but she is still cancer free. Wyanne considers cancer a gift, pushing her to find the courage to express herself more honestly and boldly. She doesn’t waste a minute of the time she’s been given painting full time almost every day.Her studio is in Madison, GA, east of Atlanta, on 10 acres with horses and gorgeous rolling hills... working in her beautiful forever studio filled with orchids, dogs, and lots of paint!Artist Statement“After my stage IV cancer diagnosis, my eyes were opened to colors interacting, the light reflected in the shadows, and energy vibrating in stillness. This beauty, often unnoticed in our day to day became my life affirming mission to capture in my work. Risk, experimentation, play, and love is my foundation. Unexpected surprises and intricate delicacies married with joyful bold expression from a wide array of mediums and processes, are as important as the air I breathe. A passionate masterful dance is created. Sometimes I lead, sometimes I follow, always with indubitable intent, no regrets, and abundant gratitude.”
