Michelle Knox is a contemporary artist based in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. She uses oil and mixed media techniques to create colored layers of washes pushing her canvas to an ethereal destination. When asked to describe her work she says, “I believe that my artwork is representative of my life. The beginning layer is who I was. I often start a painting with loose, simple strokes of bold color and basic shapes. The second layer is who I am now, by taking the basics to more complex and stable. Lastly, leaving negative space for who I am going to be, by scraping, washing, and blending the painting until I feel I’ve captured my composition”. Michelle was raised in Tallahassee, Florida. She is a graduate of the University of Georgia. She thoroughly enjoys calling the beach home and feels blessed to share her life with her love, Robert.
