Ray Kleinlein paintings are in hundreds of corporate and private collections throughout the world and in several museum collections in the United States. He had his first one-man show while still in graduate school. Since then, his work has been exhibited regularly in galleries and museums throughout the country and at art fairs such as Art Chicago and Art Miami. Kleinlein’s work has been chosen for juried shows by prominent figures including artists David Reed and William Bailey, Hirshhorn Gallery Director James Demetrion, and Peter Schjeldahl, art critic for The New Yorker. He’s won numerous awards and competitions including two Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Fellowships. His work is consistently lauded in journals and periodicals and has been featured in New American Paintings and Southern Living.Kleinlein is represented by the Paul Thiebaud gallery in San Francisco, Rosenthal Fine Art in Chicago, the Keny Gallery in Columbus, and Anthony Brunelli Fine Arts in New York. Ray Kleinlein was born in 1969 in Columbus, Ohio. As an undergraduate he attended The Columbus College of Art and Design and The Ohio State University. He completed graduate school at The Ohio University in 1998, earning an MFA in both Painting and Art History. He’s been a professor at Davidson College and several other institutions. Ray now lives outside Nashville with his wife and two children.
