Kelly Price grew up in Libby, MT. The first clay she played with was dug from the banks of the creek that ran behind the family home. It wasn't until her senior year of high school that she learned to use a wheel.Upon entering college as a business major, she took a pottery course for something 'fun' but quickly realized pottery was where she gained the most satisfaction. She graduated with honors from Northwest Nazarene University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts. A year later she began attending Utah State University where she earned a Masters Degree in Fine Arts with a focus on Ceramic Arts.Price has taught children and adults classes in pottery, sculpture, drawing and acrylic and oil painting. She has maintained a pottery studio throughout the years and now resides in Victor with her husband JD, who is an important partner in the studio and business side of producing pottery. She is never bored with clay. There is always more to try, more ways to play.
