Mike Barlow is celebrated for his bronze wildlife sculptures, an art form that combines both anatomical rigor and emotional depth. Each piece shows the spirit of its animal subject. Equally important, his sculptures have demonstrated their worth as a solid fine art investment, holding and often increasing in value in the secondary market. Barlow's relationship with wild animals began before he could read. Growing up in the Bighorn Mountains, he spent his early years modeling in clay the creatures he saw in his father's art books on African wildlife. At ten years old, a month-long family safari to Kenya sealed it. His father, Bob Barlow, was a renowned landscape painter, and Mike grew up surrounded by both nature and the art inspired by it. He came to sculpture through photography, spending a decade as one of the most published wildlife photographers of his era and years guiding expeditions on two continents. Today, Mike Barlow's creations have found homes in esteemed art collections worldwide, a testament to his skill in capturing the grandeur and intricacy of wildlife. Residing amidst the natural splendor of Montana, he continues to refine and expand his artistic repertoire. Mike Barlow has been represented by Cassens Fine Art since 2019.
