Jean Vernon has been intensely interested in visual arts her entire life, and studied color, balance, form, perspective, artistic style, art history, and fine art for six years while in school. These studies included artistic productions in many types of 2D and 3D media.Jean has always taken photographs, but it wasn't until her introduction to digital cameras about 25 years ago that she had a true awakening in the art of photography. Technology provided the gift of immediate visual feedback in what works, and from that point she started honing her editing skills, as well. With her unique photographic eye for vivid detail, Jean strives to bring out the best of our unusual and/or ordinary surroundings.Jean has traveled extensively and photographed from Alaska to Central America, most of the United States, and in a number of countries abroad. Her special interests are fine art, architecture, and local culture. After having returned to the American Southwest many times, she and her husband have settled in Why, Arizona. It is close to the Organ Pipe National Monument, the epitome of the fantastic Sonora Desert.Jean has won awards for her art and photography and is a published writer with several awards.“This part of the country is so photogenic, the natural colors, grandeur, and history of the area are astounding. My photographic art celebrates the southwest” Jean Vernon
